Florence and the Machine Concert

We had a lovely evening last night. Florence put on a fantastic concert and we had fun getting dressed and going out. Today Kristin is at an all day shoot for a magazine. We are off to Niagara Falls tomorrow. I know, that sounds very touristy, but the tour we booked sounds great. Maybe it is just the thought of spending time in an air conditioned bus that I am so looking forward too! 

We have the whole long weekend to ourselves and then it will get busy again. I see from some emails that Kristin is booked already for 2 things on Tuesday. Should be fun!

Day 2

Did I mention it was hot? I am not sure what the temperature was, but what little clothing I had on felt like a fur coat. Today Kristin had a shoot to add to her portfolio. Most pictures were taken at the U of T, which has a beautiful campus. It feels like something out of a movie, with grand stone buildings, beautiful common squares and gardens. I mainly sat in a shady spot and melted while Kristin did her thing. We are just getting ready for the concert. It will be an adventure getting there on the streetcar. Every city has such unique transit systems. Toronto uses mainly streetcars as opposed to the subway, which only runs in a bit of a loop and out of the city.

Tomorrow Kristin has an all day shoot. I will be finding a different source of entertainment, somewhere that has air conditioning. We know the photographer, a fellow from Vancouver who did a shoot with Kristin last summer when he was living in NY.

Best get ready for Florence and the Machine.

Day 1

Met with the agent today, did all the preliminary photos and interview stuff. Also were offered tickets to Florence and the Machine which is a sold out concert for tomorrow night. Then we walked down Queen street from Portland to Yonge which was a long walk. Lots of cool buildings. Kristin is in front of Campbell House then city hall and of course the CN tower. Off to supper and to get some groceries.

Our Digs and Neighborhood

Great little apartment. Downright palatial compared to our tiny place in NY. Our condo is quite new. Great area, King Street West which in near the fashion district and has lots of little restaurants.

Great older buildings in this area as well.

Waiting

A big thunderstorm prevented us and several other planes from getting to our gate. Counted 9 big planes waiting in line with us. After an hour, we pulled into our gate. Now awaiting luggage ....

Waiting at YVR

Here we are, eating breakfast and waiting for our flight to Toronto. Getting up at 430am was not Kristin's idea of fun, as you can see by her expression....

Well, one more sleep. I am now pondering why I chose the 6 am flight. I think that means we have to get up around 430 am. Add that to the west coast to east coast time change, and it adds up to an exhausting day.
It will be worth it, though.
